Bedizen

Bedizen is up! These are shamelessly frilly, fluffy, girly socks -- because sometimes that's exactly what you need.  It's hopeless to fight it.  The stitch pattern is unapologetically lacy and swirly.  It looks complicated, but it is actually surprisingly simple.  The pattern repeat is only 4 rows high, and it is very easy to memorize. The yarn is a delicious 50-50 merino alpaca blend by Dicentra Designs.  The alpaca adds the perfect touch of luxury.  If you're going to make a confection like these, you really should use a marvelous yarn, shouldn't you?  And at least one lucky reader can.  [...]

Pedigreed

You were patient.  You were astonishingly patient, and now your patience has been rewarded. Pedigreed has been tested to within an inch of its life and is now available! I feel I should warn you that this is not an easy pattern. It's not hard exactly, but it is certainly not a mindless knit. There are lots of twists and turns and you need to pay attention to both the text and the charts. Speaking of charts, this is a substantial pattern.  It is 13 pages long and has 8 charts, 6 of them full page charts.  There are several [...]

Propitiate

They're done!  Two legs, two heels, two toes.  All finished, and I even got them on The Boy and him outside before the sun went down.  See? More about them and how you too can knit them for your very own feet can be found right here.

Embonpoint Done

The next step on the path to Violently Domestic's world domination has been taken. The pattern for Embonpoint is finished, tested, and available for sale! These socks are intended to be worked on slightly thicker yarn (they were designed specifically for Schaefer Yarn Company's marvelous new yarn Nichole yarn) and so knit up quickly. The pattern includes three different ways to do the cuff, just in case you feel like making a modified version. The gusset is a little different than what you find on most top-down socks, but I promise it's not hard.  Enjoy!

Luscious

Embonpoint is done, and I love them! They are marvelously smooshy and fantastically photogenic. See? They are getting shipped off to Schaefer this week. With luck, the pattern should be available shortly. I can't wait to start seeing these made.

Ta Da!

All done...knit in six days. My hands will likely never be the same. Much of the credit goes to the yarn and all its thick squishy goodness. It's Nichole by Schaefer, and I will be using it again. Now for the shameless photo bragging. Take them home. Make them yourself.

Dippers

I am, for once in my life (and much to the surprise of anyone who has met me), done ahead of schedule. Yes, that's right, the Dippers socks are done being knit, done being photographed, and the pattern done being written. You may find the pattern here. You may also shower me with adulation, expensive presents, and, barring either of those, pictures of your completed socks. One more picture, mostly because I'm smug and self satisfied. Possibly even smugly self satisfied.

Slant

As promised, the pattern for Slant is finished. The Ravelry page is here, and the pdf of the pattern is here. Thanks to everyone who said nice things about them, and special thanks to the valiant knitters who bravely tested out the stitch pattern instructions and pronounced them intelligible. One last pic and then I promise to stop showing them off: What's that? Oh. Yes, I totally am that pale. It's cold here, it happens. Not that it will be any different when it warms up, I just have more of an excuse at the moment.
