Stochastic KAL

Ok, ok so you folks like one! And the good folks at Gauge Dye Works are awfully accommodating. So between us all, I think we might be able to pull off a very mellow, very chill, very (very very) unstructured knitalong.

Here’s the bit where I say I normally get squirrely about knitalongs because if they have too many rules, they start to feel like homework.  And I super don’t want my knitting to feel like homework thank you very much indeed. So we will keep this as mellow and unstructured as humanly possible.  But, if what you’re wanting is to show off your knitting to other folks knitting sort of the same thing, we can make that happen.

You can follow and use the hashtag #StochasticHat on instagram.  That will show you hats other folks are making with the pattern (and let other folks see what you’re making)! Or you can head over to Gauge Dye Works ravelry group and check out their thread and share your projects there.

It is completely fine to post projects using any yarn in either place.  You absolutely do not have to use the special yarn dyed for the hat.  In fact, I’m hoping to see lots of different yarns so we can all see how awesome this looks with all sorts of yarns (no really, that’s half the fun of my job, I love seeing what you come up with)!

And at some point in the not too distant future, I’ll see if I can’t maybe find a way to send a few of the extra skeins of this yarn I happen to have sitting around off to a few folks who play along on instagram.  I’ll post about the details of that once I sort out the logistics, but for now, all you have to do is tag your posts there with #StochasticHat and show off what you’re making!

As a reminder, the pattern is available on both ravelry and payhip, and you’ve got another day or so to use the code RANDOM to take 10% off in either place!
