Quiescent
Published On: January 5, 2021

I told you I wouldn’t keep you waiting for long! Quiescent is back, you can find it on either ravelry or payhip, and you can use the code CINDERELLA to take 10% off for the first few days it’s out.

Did you ever knit a thing that is just an absolute perfect expression of some aspect of your personality? Something that’s just so unspeakably you that you can hardly stand it?  Yeah, that’s these slippers for me.  The yarn (gray…gray and speckles…gray and speckles and fuzzy)? The texture (twisted rib is my happy place)? The unabashed swoopy lines?  The satisfyingly geometric shape?  Yeah, yeah that’s pretty much exactly what I want knitting to be.

I finished my first pair in early 2014.  Well, really I finished my first two pairs in early 2014 (I liked them so much I made myself two, always a good sign).  They were my first slipper, and I was hopelessly smitten with them.  So of course it made sense that I’d want to have them come back out as part of The Great Pattern Revival of 2020 (you know, the one that has been firmly extended into 2021 because there were some current events that rather took time away from knitting last year if you didn’t notice).  And one of the things I’ve been doing as part of the pattern revival is adding in extra sizes and gauges where practical, and adding in extra step-by-step photos of stuff that might look a little funny while you’re knitting.

So between wanting to take a bunch progress photos, and wanting to add new sizes, I figured I’d just go ahead and knit a new pair!  These are the result, and I couldn’t possibly be any happier with them.

If you purchased the original from back in 2014, don’t fret.  You should have the new version in your ravelry library already (ravelry has more info on how to get pattern updates here if you need it).  If you didn’t get the original way back then, you can get the new one now.  It’s up on both ravelry or payhip.  And you can use the code CINDERELLA to take 10% off through the end of the day, eastern time, Friday January 8.
