Sometimes you have to have just a tiny bit of faith that your knitting will come out right in the end, even if it looks really funny in the middle.  This is totally one of those times.  While you knit this, you will absolutely wonder if I’ve done something dreadful and am leading you astray.  I’m not (and I do take a bit of extra time in the pattern to try and reassure you that I have not actually played a sneaky trick on you).  But it will for sure look weird in the middle.  But then you’ll fold up that brim (thus giving you an excuse to use that adorable pin you’ve left languishing in your jewelry box for far too long if you’re so inclined) and bask in the cuteness.  I promise it’s fun!
