Summer School, Slippers, Calceiform
Published On: July 21, 2020

On Monday we talked a bit about slippers, and for the rest of the week I’ll be showing off some of my personal favorites.

These are Calceiform, they if you’ve ever knit a sock you can totally knit these, and they’re 25% off on ravelry with the code SUMMER SCHOOL through the end of the day, eastern time, Tuesday July 21.

Ok I’ll tell you the secret.  These are baaaaaaaaasically a top down sock with a heel flap…just with the leg bit left off and the top left open for a while.  If you can knit socks, you can knit these.

No really…you start by knitting a heel flap, then a heel turn.  Then you pick up stitches along the side of the heel flap and work the body of the slipper.  When you get down far enough, you join up and work in the round for a bit, then do a toe.  It’s a sock with no leg and an open foot…and it’s far more fun than it should be!
