That will do
Well then, that will do nicely. I mean I still need to go out and give it a proper photo shoot, but I’m really rather pleased with the hat itself.
It’s off with testers, and assuming no one gets hit by a meteor or felled by the plague or otherwise messed about with, the pattern should be out next week.
Now, the trick is to make sure I actually wear this and don’t somehow imbue it with all the various fretting I was doing while I knit it (someone tell me that’s not just me, I can’t be the only one who ends up putting totally unnecessary feelings into poor, unsuspecting wool). But as long as I can avoid that, I think it will be a favorite!
Greetings from Cricklewood Hunter! I’m profoundly thankful that I can knit, and knit well. I’m self isolating here as I have a lung condition. Not serious at the moment but wouldn’t benefit from a dose of Covid 19. Knitting gives my poor muddled brain something to focus on in these troubled times. And I’m most definitely a process knitter. I like to finish things and wear them but it’s the pleasure of doing that gives me the greatest satisfaction and value out of the yarn. I don’t care if I have to rip some of it out because of a mistake, yippee more knitting to do, bonus!!
I think you’ll love your hat, it’s very pretty and you always use beautiful yarn. Summer is coming for us in the Northern Hemisphere, so I’d wrap it up carefully in something pretty and put it away until the colder months come round. Like a nice gift to yourself! And you’ll see how lovely it is and forget some of the trials we’re going through now.
I’m currently knitting patches for Arne & Carlos’s quarantine Hug Me Later KAL and improving my stranded colourwork. 😊 smug face! And I might finish my hospital socks. I keep them in a bag for knitting in outpatients waiting rooms but I won’t be getting much done there in the near future. They’re Truckle socks, chosen because they’re pretty, interesting to knit without too much thinking, and don’t need a cable needle to drop and get lost. And I’ve got some yarn for some Shoreland socks, plenty to do!!
