Ok, enough of you asked, so I went ahead and did it. Peached is here, it’s 10% off with the code MINT for the first few days it’s out, and you can totally knit a whole bushel full and distribute them as needed to share your feelings.
If you’ve been following along for the last few weeks, you know I knit this because reading the news felt overwhelming. And these days, when I feel that way, I tend to pick up my needles. This time, I found myself knitting a peach. Actually, quite a few peaches.
I shared them here and on instagram, and it turned out a lot of you were feeling overwhelmed too. And a surprising number of you thought you might want to knit a little peach as well. So I went ahead and wrote up the pattern.
And, because the best way to stop feeling overwhelmed is to feel like you’re doing something to help, we’re going to use use some of the proceeds of this pattern to do some good. The first $500 this pattern makes will go to RAICES, an organization that, “promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.”
Edit to add: We totally did it! Screenshot of the donation that everyone who bought or shared this pattern helped me make down at the end of the post. You all are AWESOME! Now…think we can do it again? Let’s see if we can send $250 off to the Southern Poverty Law Center, who are “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society,” and who are awfully busy these days!
Edit to add: We did that too, you are all so damn cool! Pic down at the bottom!
We did it, we did it, holy smokes you are all awesome!
We did it again, you are so cool!
