Goodies
I am, usually, quite restrained in the face of yarn. I tend to think of trips to yarn stores as more research visits than shopping expeditions. But when I stopped in at Yarn It & Haberdashery in Columbus, I sort of slipped. I grabbed a few goodies.
That’s some Madeline Tosh (I can never resist their colors) and some Faeriegrl Yarns (which seems to be only available at Yarn It, but I liked the speckles too much to leave it behind). And just in case that wasn’t enough, I found another new goody in the mail when I came home.
That restraint I can show in the face of yarn? Totally doesn’t apply to stitch dictionaries. I’m making it my personal goal to collect all of them. I suspect this one will be lots of fun.
This book looks heavenly! 🙂
One can never have enough stitch dictionaries and that one looks great!!
I got that book for myself for Xmas! It is brilliant and I want to spend hours of happy time swatching from it.
I cannot wait to see what it does in your brain!
I, too, cannot resist in the face of stitch dictionaries. Perhaps we should start a club. When we got that same book in store a few weeks ago, it had to come home with me. Endless hours of inspiration!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
If all the pictures in that book are the quality of the cover, it is already a step above some I’ve seen. I hope you’ll tell us how the Faeriegrl yarn works up. I stopped buying indie brand flecked yarns years ago, after watching several brands lose half or more of the flecks as I knit, and even more in daily wear. Some of the big brands have the same problem.
I might have to find a reason to visit Columbus…
Stitch Dictionaries are a necessary tool for you! and a business expense. 🙂
Where did you get the book?
I found it on etsy!
Oooooh, I haven’t seen that one. 😀
From what I can tell, it came out late last year. I found mine on etsy, and needle arts knitting says they’ll have it in some time in March. Totally good stuff!
Fell in love with the stitch pattern on the cover of that dictionary so I made it my personal mission this evening to hunt down a copy for myself! Snagged one off etsy, wish I had thought to look there for Japanese pattern books forever ago. Thanks for that superb enabling, Hunter!
Oh fantastic! Totally happy to enable. I hope it turns out to be great fun!
Oh my, I am very excited to see what patterns you produce as a result of that book. 🙂
Oh I love Yarn It. Have you been to KnitTemptations in Dublin? That was the first one I went to when I moved to the area and it’s really charming too. 🙂
