All Year Long
I’m trying a little experiment. From now through the end of the year, you can get 15% off anything in my ravelry shop with the code ALL YEAR LONG. If you use that code, you’ll also get a series of 6 emails from me (one every other month, starting in February and running through 2016), each with some sort of special discount or sale.
I’m not saying what they’ll be just yet, but they will only be available to folks who use the code now. They’ll be our little secret, and I won’t be sending them to the regular mailing list or making them public on the blog or on ravelry.
There’s a tiny bit of fine print (not much, I promise), but there are two things you should know. First, using the code won’t change anything about your mailing list subscription. It won’t sign you up for the regular mailing list (if you want to do that, you can do it over here), and being on the regular mailing list doesn’t mean you’ll get these emails. They’re totally separate things, and neither will affect the other. Second, you must have access to the email address you use with paypal. The emails will go to that address, so you need to be able to check that address to get them. See, that’s not too hard as far as fine print goes!
So swing on by the shop, grab whatever Santa forgot, and I’ll see if I can’t sneak some fun things into your inbox next year!
ETA: I’ve been getting two questions about this little experiment, and thought I’d take a moment and see if I can help answer them. The first (and easiest!) is ‘what’s that shawl?’ It’s actually a sneak peek at one of the pieces in Curls 2. It doesn’t have a name just yet, but since I had all the pictures from the photo shoot, I thought I’d use this opportunity to show one off a bit! Look for it to come out in the summer.
The second is ‘can I use this on the paper books?’ That’s a bit harder. There isn’t a good way for me to make coupon codes work on the paper books (if only the folks at paypal were half as clever and helpful as the folks at ravelry…I can do all sorts of things at ravelry that paypal doesn’t allow). So I can’t make the discount apply to paper books. But, if you really want a paper book, and really want to get the special emails, we can make that happen. Just forward me the receipt you get from paypal showing you bought the book during this promotion, and tell me you’d like to be on the list (you can send it to hunter at violently domestic dot com). I’ll confirm with you that I got your message and be sure you’re on the list.
I was bummed that I missed out the pre-order on Fine Things, so this is perfect! Thanks! 🙂
Hunter, is it possible to use this offer when ordering one of your books in print version? I realize I don’t own volume 1 of Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet. How can this be?
Short answer, sort of. We can make at least part of it happen. Let me add the longer version (with, you know, how to do it) up in the main post above so anyone else who might be wondering is likely to see it too, ok? I’ll write it up now, and it should be up shortly.
Ok, maybe I am a bit dense at the moment. I’d like the paper copies, do I order through the website and send you the PayPal receipt or through ravelry and let you know I want a paper copy as well? I love having both because it is easier to print a copy from my ravelry library and not mess up my lovely book.
You’re not dense! We’re just trying to band together to make technology bend to our will, and sometimes that takes a bit of persuasion.
Just order the paper version through the http://www.pantsvillepress.com site and send me an email and I’ll totally make sure you’re all taken care of.
And remember…we tie knots so fancy you can wear them, we are all exceptionally clever!
Will do! Thank you Hunter, I can’t wait to see what surprises you have for us!
Which shawl pattern is the one pictured in this blog post? It is very lovely.
It’s a new one from Curls 2!
Hat pattern bought! …then I had to order the yarn… GAH! stop doing us favours please!!! :o)
Hi,
I completely fell in love with this shawl on the photo. If I get it right – I am German – it will be Part of Curls II? Can’ t wait;-)
Thanks, just bought a pattern on Ravelry;-)
Gaby
Hi Gaby! Yes, you are correct. The shawl in the photo will be in Curls 2 (which should come out this summer). I’m so glad you’re excited for it!
