Worth the Wait

Sometimes it takes a little while for the perfect yarn and the perfect project to meet up.  That’s not a bad thing.  That is, in fact, why we have stashes.  You have to be well supplied when inspiration strikes.

DSC_2280I got this delightful mountain of yarn from Christine of Skeinny Dipping when I was sourcing yarns for the book that comes out next month (eep…next month…eep).  We were chatting about colors and yarns and plans, and this lovely little experiment just happened to show up on my doorstep.  It didn’t turn out to be quite the right color for the book.  But it is absolutely delightful, and it has been frolicking about on the top of the stash ever since.

I’m starting to get the itch to cast on a new pair of socks for The Boy, and this seems like the perfect choice.  It, too, is coming with me on the upcoming road trip.  Look for lots more of it over the next few weeks.  And, if you happen to be in the area, you can find Christine and her lovely yarns (not to mention Sweet Sheep from last week’s give away, Bare Naked Wools from the event last month, and lots of others) at Indie Untangled, a sort of Rhinebeck pre-party, this Friday night.  It looks well worth a visit!
