Fits and Spurts
The sock is growing. It’s firmly in the ‘I am clearly a sock and am recognizable as such to non knitters’ stage of the process, which I always find reassuring. But I’ve let it sit, unattended, for a few days now, and it has completely and totally failed to finish itself.
I think I’ll give it another day or two and see if there is any spontaneous knitting. I wouldn’t want to give up on the experiment too soon. If we could make that work, it would be rather nifty.
If that doesn’t work out, I’m sure one or two more sessions will have it taken care of. They really are too pretty to let them languish for long!
I like it in unfinished state, but would like it even more if it would finish already.
I will speak sternly to them and tell them to hurry up!
It’s lovely!…what kind of needles are those, pls?
Oh man, I have no idea…they don’t seem to have any markings…
Well, they seem to have a good level of pointiness and look great with the yarn, so YAY! : )
I am so glad to know that someone else believes in the “self finishing” concept. I have baskets full of projects testing the idea.
Love these cables.
We clearly need to get the great minds of our time on this. I really feel once I’ve set the pattern, the socks should just be able to more or less finish themselves off!
I like bright and happy sock yarns. I knit socks for my daughter and granddaughter and myself too. We laugh and enjoy ourselves whenever we are together. No dark boring socks will do. The yarn I look for must make us smile.
I am actually knitting this pattern and it is so fun! I like a sock yarn to be fine, not have a bunch of strings hanging off ( not shaggy). I also like more of a solid and definitely look for color. I am drawn to orange or blue greens.
