Pattern Spotlight and Yarn Giveaway
The last time we did this was so much fun, I can’t help but do it again! I happen to have a bit more yarn from KCC3 to give away, and I think you’re going to love it.
This time it’s the Bunodes crassicornis projects in Malabrigo’s delicious yarns.
That’s Arroyo on the socks, and Rios on the hat. I’ve got two extra skeins of the Rios (in the color used in the book), and I’d like to send them off to two of you. I like having two ways to win, so let’s do it again, shall we?
For the first chance to win, leave a comment on this post telling me what you love about Malabrigo’s yarns. Is it their super soft bases? Their beautiful colors? The way they tempt you from across the yarn store? There’s no right answer, just tell your story (and if you haven’t worked with it yet, that’s ok too)!
For the second chance to win, pin the picture in this post to your pinterest boards. To do that, you can either click the pinterest button at the top of the post (it’s red and looks like a p) or you can click on the ‘Pin it’ button that comes up when you hover your mouse over the picture itself. Just be sure you’re pinning the picture from this post.
Comments left and pins made between now and the end of the day (eastern time) Monday, June 30, 2014 will be entered to win. I’ll pick winners, contact them to get their addresses, and arrange to send the yarn their way. If you’re leaving a comment, be sure to use a real email address so I can contact you if you’ve won (I won’t do anything with those email addresses besides notify the winner). If you win by pinning, I’ll leave a comment on your pin letting you know you’ve won. If I do get in touch with you, I need to hear back from you within 72 hours or I will pick a new winner and contact them. Sorry, but I can only send prizes to US addresses.
P.S. The winners have been notified and prizes are on their way!
I love the colors and the stitch definition the yarn provides. Malabrigo never disappoints. Off to pin!
Lovely yarn and amazing colors. I have made a pair of socks, a shawl, and a hat with Malabrigo. Each are lovely. The shawl drapes and made a simple pattern elegant and stunning.
I love the rich colors !
I have not had the pleasure of using Malabrigo yarn yet 🙁 It’s been sitting in my Ravelry favorites forever, though!
I love the softness and gorgeous deep colors. But I also like the fact that I can find it easily, unlike some other terrific yarns that can usually only be found online.
I think the colors are FANTASTIC. Thanks for having the giveaway!
I love everything about Malabrigo. I guess it’s mostly their colors, but I also think it’s wonderful how they’ve expanded their yarn lines to include more bases over the past several years. Sometimes it’s a little annoying when the color you want isn’t on the base you want though! Great giveaway, thanks! (sjn821 on Rav)
I love the softness of the yarn. I knit a few shawls and hats and they are the best for me (I am too sensitive and like yarn to be soft next to skin). Thank you for the chance! (Jessehelen on Rav)
I love the softness, too! I have some in my stash that I pet every now and again.
I like the colors and the y knit up very nicely.
The colours grab me, then the softness won’t let me go. Thanks for the giveaway!
What first caught my attention was everyone calling it MMMMalabrigo in blog posts. I really thought that was the way to spell the name. When I went to the website to see what the fuss was about, the colors blew me away on the monitor, so I had to run to the LYS to see it in person. Then came the touch test, and that cinched it, I was hooked. I had one of those “I can’t afford it … but …” moments. Thanks for the giveaway. KittenWhiplash on Rav.
The first Malabrigo yarn I ever tried was sock, and at first I was just indifferent about it, until I went to block it and the piece became so incredibly soft and lustrous, I instantly fell head over heels in love, since then I’ve only worked with lace and Mal worsted and a small 10 yard amount of silky DK, but so far I have loved all the bases I’ve tried, and would love the chance to try the Rio base
I love how soft they are!
I love that Malabrigo has great stitch definition! & it’s squooshy soft! & the colors are great! LOL What is not to like?

I like the softness and the colors of the Malabrigo yarns.
I love the bases. I love the single plies. I have Malabrigo that I’ve owned for years and still won’t knit because I’m too busy petting it!
oooooooh, Rios is the softest of softness.
I just love petting Malabrigo. I seem to pick it up quite often at yarn stores. The colors suck me in and the softness means it is hard to put them down, even on the check out counter.
Love the yarn. It is great to work with and the colors are fantastic.
I’ve never worked with this yarn before but would love to…thanks for the giveaway!
