Not Forgotten

If you’ve been paying close attention, you may have noticed something shocking.  Distressing really.  I’ve not been knitting.  I pretty much took a month off.  I didn’t mean to, it just sort of snuck up on me.  I’ve been busy.  First it was TNNA, then it was prepping for the book launch, then it was picking yarns for a new project.  But somewhere along the way, knitting fell by the wayside.  Then I realized the error of my ways and went looking for some instant gratification.  This cuff fit the bill nicely.

knit cuffIt’s the simplest thing in the world (it’s a two row repeat), took just over an hour to knit up (thanks to the yummy fat yarn), and totally reminded me that I really like knitting.  And I kind of love cuffs like this.  Somewhere between bracelet and wrist warmer, they’re both adorable and practical, plus they provide a perfect excuse to raid the button stash.  I’m rather taken with it!

knit cuff 2The yarn is Apple Creek Chunky from The BagSmith.  There was a lovely wee sample of it in a goodie bag I got at TNNA, and it seemed like the perfect little plaything to get needles back in my hands.  I am pretty sure the fastenings are by JUL Designs.  I picked them up years ago, and they’re not labeled, but I don’t know of anyone else making buttons quite like that.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a thing or two to do.  The book’s preorder opens Tuesday, and there are a few things to sort out between now and then!
