Conjugate
Shall we conjugate the verb snow? How about weep?
Regardless of what mid-April snows do for one’s state of mind (or one’s sinuses), they do at least provide encouragement for knitting. The first mitt of the re-knit version of Adumbrate is done.
I’m awfully fond of them. The thumb is unreasonably tidy.
Alas this picture doesn’t quite show it off in its full glory (Millicent won’t bend her thumb in to show it off, but she has a long history of being a troublemaker). I’ll do my best to find a more cooperative model for the proper photos.
Well at least, the snow does make for lovely photos of knitting. Love this colorway!
I’m so with you with weeping in the snow – Monday was like summer here in Montreal, the next day it is snowing.
Your mitts are absolutely lovely.
How different is the pattern from the original, which I already own? They are beautiful…
When I redo the patterns, I’m reknitting the sample, taking new pictures, drawing new charts, and updating the text to reflect my current pattern writing style, and sometimes doing things like adding in extra sizes. But the actual knitted object should be more or less identical.
And if you’ve already purchased the original, you’ll get the new one automatically when it comes out (ravelry will send you the update message).
It’s lovely!
Perfect. Thank you!
A possibly ridiculous question that I can justify by having been raised in Florida and now living in South Carolina, neither of which are known for their snow: what does snow do to sinuses? Because down here in pollen-hell, hearing about snow up north almost sounded like it might be nice for the allergies.
Hah! A totally reasonable question actually.
It’s not so much the snow itself, that’s fairly innocuous. It’s more the wild temperature swings. It was 79 on Sunday and snowing on Tuesday. That sudden drop means that all of the um…stuff…let’s just go with stuff…that normally lives happily in my sinus cavities like it should decides to have some sort of bubbly death explosion. It’s super attractive.
But, if I’m being precise, I should say it’s the wild dip in temperature, not the snow itself, that left me a snotty, bleary-eyed mess!
Ah yes, I understand that one all too well. Thanks for the clarification.
Oh, that thumb is wonderful.
