Quiescent
Quiescent: adjective marked by inactivity or rest
The slipper pattern is out, and you can find it over on ravelry, should you feel the need to make yourself a pair!
Oh, and on the off chance kittens aren’t your thing, I do have the odd pic or two with no kitten. Let’s see, perhaps this one will show off the knitting without the distracting influence of a Furry Overlord.
Or maybe this one. I swear that ribbing makes even my (shamefully flat) feet look all curvy and graceful. Imagine what it will do for your lovely feet!
These are made with Bare Naked Wools (Confection Worsted for the sole, and Breakfast Blend DK for the upper), and they really are a marvelous fit for the pattern. The beautiful undyed colors all go perfectly together, so any two colors you pick will look fabulous. The lovely, sturdy Confection cushions the bottom of the slipper while Breakfast Blend keeps the top of your feet cozy. I really am awfully taken with the pairing.
And I’m going to indulge myself and share one more picture with Douglas. Because he’s adorable, and because he’s not the type who normally sits still and doesn’t cause trouble. I figure the moment needs to be well documented (so I remember it the next time he’s being a windmill of destruction and claws).
Once again, the pattern is over on ravelry, should you happen to need a pair of your own!
Love the pictures, with and without the cat. These look so comfy, and you’ve managed to make comfy look super stylish. Well done !
May be the first time in my life I’ve been stylish!
Pattern obtained; can’t wait to cast on my first of many pairs!
They are lovely, I’ll have to go check them out. He’s beautiful. I have one of those myself. His name is Samson. He’s become awfully chatty of late.
Douglas is the chattiest of our kitties too. He likes to say hi, and he likes to ask where we are (seriously, he has a chirp that means ‘where’d you go?’ and if we call out when he makes it he comes to visit with us.
Don’t you think the Overlords need some of this great stuff??

Holy smokes. That is fabulous, but it’s also almost a grand. Wee Douglas will have to put in a few more hours modeling work before that happens!
Yay, thank you for the pattern. I will purchase it when I get home Monday, but the timing was perfect to allow me to shop for yarn for it tomorrow. 🙂
May we please have a picture of the soles as well? It will help me when I’m knitting, to be able to see what should be happening compared with what is actually happening for me.
Let’s see…this post over here shows the sole. It looks just like the heel flap, except it’s stockinette instead of ribbing. Just two yarns held together to be nice and smooshy underfoot!
Thanks Hunter! 🙂
This pattern must be the reason I have not made the other slippers I’ve been considering! I’m a barefoot girl, and definitely no heels. These look perfect for a situation in which I need decorative indoor shoes, with a flexible sole. But I have been thinking felt. Would these be a candidate for felting?
So, the pattern isn’t written with felting in mind. But if you’re up for some experimentation, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to use that shape/construction and felt it.
If you do, I’d love to hear about your experiments!
Is Quiescent still available?
