Smaht Fahm (in pictures)
A little while ago, I got a handy dandy email telling me about a local event I might be interested in. An Alpaca Day. An Alpaca Day at a local farm. The Boy and I piled into the car, made a fortifying breakfast stop, and were on our way.
We arrived to find there were indeed alpacas.
Alpacas who were happy to receive our offerings.
But alpacas were not the only critters to be found.
There were also guard kittens.
Fearsomely cute guard kittens (who very much liked their ears scratched).
And chickens (who did not so much want their ears scratched).
And bees (I didn’t even look for ears).
Back inside, the fleece was sorted by contributor.
But the real show stealer was this guy. He was perched on the balls of roving when we arrived.
And by the time we left, he’d sunk right in, sound asleep.
The adorableness was more or less fatal. I stole all the kittens, made off with them in a high-speed car chase, and am now on the run with my kitten menagerie. Or, possibly, I took a lot of pictures, made a lot of ridiculous noises, and am currently suffering from extreme kitten lust. One or the other.
Oh man. I want to go to a place where there are kittens snoozing and great balls of alpaca roving. That sounds like a good place.
I’m now suffering from cute overload. I’m not a huge cat person these days (terribly allergic), but you seem to run across and have in your life some of the cutest kitties!
Wheezing asthmatically at the thought of your day out – alpaca AND cats, shudder! LOL!
TOO MUCH CUTENESS!! I love, love LOVE all of these photos. Thanks for sharing them!
Thank you so much for visiting, we would love to see you again! Your pictures are amazing and so cute! Bu (kitten) spent the afternoon today chasing frogs in the creek–I tried telling her to practice hunting rodents but she ignored me. Then later she snuck into the garage and stole some stray fiber, was throwing it up in the air and killing it repeatedly. At one point it stuck to her face and she looked like she had a mustache, goofy cat.
We had a fabulous time. I totally want to come back for the open house later in the fall! And I’m thinking you should likely have a film crew follow Bu around all the time to capture the cute for posterity. So so so adorable!
