Actual Knitting
Between the reading and rereading and rerereading of the proofs, there has only been a bit of time and energy for knitting. But that little bit has been quite pleasant. Here’s the first of the redone mitts finished and blocked.
I switched the thumb gusset out to the style I like better these days. It fits well and is easy to knit. I think it looks nifty too, but I could be biased.
The second one is on the needles and might even be finished this weekend. Or maybe I’ll nap. Depends on how cross-eyed I end up after the last round of double checking.
Suddenly, I want to knit myself a pair of these and wear them to a polo match.
That’s very…specific. I totally support your decision (and if you do it, please do take pictures), but I do wonder what inspired it!
I don’t know. I just saw this and I was thinking these are very genteel. which makes me think of things like polo matches (a la Pretty Woman)…..and then I learned there’s a rumor that the first Polo match in the US was played in Boerne, TX near here. So, I’m going to look into checking out a polo match and depending on what time of year it is, etc. I will wear one of your designs and there WILL be pictures.
at the very least, I should knit these and take a picture of me drinking a mint julep. 🙂
Any excuse for a julep I say…
That’s quite a lovely gusset there! Is it one you’ve published (or are about to)?
I don’t think any of my existing patterns have it used, but it’s the one I used on the light blue mitts earlier this year. Those will be published as part of a little collection this fall.
Gorgeous!
These are really beautiful. REALLY beautiful. Want!
Thank you! I should have more details about the project they’re part of later this month or early next month. They’ll be a couple of ways to get them on your needles later this spring!
How do I to knit a gusset like this
