According to Plan
This is going awfully well. Awfully well indeed. I have a sneaking suspicion this yarn (Chubbie, by Vice) is going to become one of my favorite fat sock yarns. This is especially good news, since the sad closing of Schaefer Yarns has meant that my beloved Nichole is going to become harder and harder to find. The discovery of Chubbie will totally help console me.
I’m unreasonably taken with the heel flap on this one, it was rather a lot of fun to knit (I do need to figure out just how to reverse one part of it for the other sock, but we’ll take that one step at a time). They’re working up quickly, though that could be because I gave in to my short leg tendencies. It seemed the best fit for the stitch pattern. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, it has nothing to do with my inherent laziness.
ohhhh. lovely! I want to make these in sage green. which is interesting bc I’ve never thought “oh, I’d like to make that in sage” before. inspiring!
I’m convinced they’re responsible for the un-January-like weather we’re having. I’ll keep knitting and hold off the snow a bit longer.
Vice doesn’t appear to be sold online anywhere… is this true?
Lizzy is in the process of moving from an etsy store to the direct store I linked too. It should be up and available soon though (not soon enough I know, but it’s coming)!
I am smitten with your sock. Please may I have its hand in marriage?
She is, alas, too young to marry just yet. But wee socks grow up so fast these days, before you know it she’ll be all grown up!
I will wait.
It looks great! I love the yarn — and the pattern. Excited to see how it will end.
But Schaefer Yarns closed? How did I miss this news? How sad.
I know, I’m heartbroken. There’s still some out there to be had, and I’ve got lots in the stash, but yeah, I’ll miss it.
I love the subtle variation of tone in the yarn. Gorgeous design also!
Lizzy’s awfully darn good at that. I trust her to take me closer to variegated than I’d normally go, and still have it come out beautifully!
Lizzy makes some of the best yarns! We are so lucky to have her here locally and when everyone learns what we know she will be a household name too! Love the sock! The colors and the pattern suit each other so well!
Yup, that does totally make me jealous! We need to expand her empire!
Oh! Write a companion fingerless glove pattern that has that lovely heel detail surrounding the gusset. Pretty please?
Tempting! But have you seen the Green Thumb pattern by mooseknits? I think she’s made the definitive statement on the issue and we should just cede that territory to her!
These socks are amazingly Gorgeous! I also want to thank Lisa for her kind words, you are a doll and I don’t see you often enough.
