Envy
About a zillion years ago, I got to know Lizzy on Ravelry. She tested some of my earliest patterns, then she knit some samples for KCC1, and now she’s gone and done that thing that so many of us yarn types have a secret hankering to do somewhere deep inside. She’s started a yarn company. And of course, it’s fabulous yarn. And of course, I sweet talked her into letting me play with it for KCC2.
Just recently, she and I were talking about another little project I have kicking around in my head. A few days later, yarn showed up at my house (it tends to happen if you get to know her…it’s really rather nifty). A few days after that, it leapt onto my needles and started tying itself up in what I think will be a very fetching sort of fashion. What do you think?
I’m really rather taken with it myself. Now, Lizzy is in the middle of doing a big website shuffle/company growth spurt/holy crap how did I find myself doing this when I grew up sort of dance. So the site for Vice Yarns may or may not be quite ready to show off her goodies just yet, but I was tired of waiting, so I wanted to come post the pretty knitting now. And now, if you’ll excuse me, I want to to play with the yarn some more.
Definitely got a sky blue with cables thing going right now, hey Hunter? It’s good – I like it. But I don’t have time to stop for that right now, I’m desperately lacking in red and orange accessories to keep me warm when Autumn hits. Sigh.
Hah, it is sort of a phase, isn’t it! Though to be fair, this one is all lace, not much in the way of cables (I guess those little 1 by 1 twists are sort of cables, but it’s more because I like working them better than I like working plain ribbing).
Don’t worry, I’ll be back to orange soon, this is just because I need several things to look good together for a project coming up. Orange is still first in my heart!
Isn’t that the same yarn I used for one of the samples for KCC2? If so, it is a fabulous yarn! Btw, surgery was on the 10th, staples come out tomorrow, and I’m up for testing that sock whenever you want me to!
It is amazing when you feel better coming out of anesthesia than you have in years 🙂
Yup, yup indeed. Rather nifty, isn’t it!
And yes, if coming out of surgery feels better than going in, something rather dramatic has happened, so glad you’re on the mend!
