Rabble Rousers Yarn Giveaway, Last Chance
Giving all this yarn away has been so much fun. Well, there may possibly have been the occasional teeny tiny twinge when I mail out the oh-so-pretty goodies, but that’s only to be expected. The fun parts far outweigh any such ignoble feelings. I must see if I can do this again some time!
But now, just to end things on a bang, the good folks at Malabrigo were kind enough to send me 3 skeins of Arroyo to give away today. This is the yarn I used for the Ruction cowl and mitts in Rabble Rousers. It was, as always, an absolute delight to work with. It was almost embarrassingly fascinating to see which color would come up next as I was knitting with it. Maybe I’m just easily entertained.
I think most of us know all about Malabrigo and are already properly smitten. Their yarns come in a lovely array of bases, but it’s their phenomenal colors that I’m always drawn to. I swear I can hear them calling me from across a crowded yarn store. I end up standing in front of the Malabrigo display going ‘hmmm, I need that one, and that one, oh and that one over there too.’ It’s a sickness I tell you. I mean look, they got me to buy pink yarn. I don’t generally do pink, but this was just too pretty to resist. I was overcome by the colors.
And now, so that some of you can be overcome too, I’ve got 3 skeins of Arroyo (each skein will make both the cowl and the mitts). I’m going to send each skein off to a different lucky reader. If you think one of them might like to come live with you, just leave a comment telling me about your experience with Malabrigo (something you’ve knit, yarn you’ve bought, yarn you’ve just ogled in the store, or even let me know you’ve not yet been properly introduced). I’ll leave comments open until Friday night and then come back and announce winners early next week.
Malabrigo silky merino is just lovely! I love their color combinations and it is a dream to knit with. I would love to give the Arroyo a try.
I’ve just looked at (and touched) Malabrigo at yarn shops, and I would love to get a chance to work with it!

I’ve used Malabrigo sock yarn and love it.
I’ve just recently fallen in love with Malabrigo. I had some in my stash that was purchased on sale with no project in mind. It langushed there until a bit earlier this year when used it for a scarf. I’d never realized how lovely it was now I understand the Malabrigo “mania”. Stunning colors and oh so soft. Would love to give Arroyo a try.
I also have used Malabrigo sock yarn and loved it !, I have some in my stash in a blue colorway and yes I look at it often ! so pretty !
I really think one of these skeins wants to make its home in Wahoo, Nebraska! I’ve knit with Malibrigo sock once and made a shawlette and some mitts. The yarn was a thank you gift from my sister.
Nice pattern! I have long loved Malabrigo – my favorite might be silky, but I haven’t had the chance to try Arroyo yet!
I havent had the chance to work with any Malibrigo yarns yet but I’ve been watching my wife thoroughly enjoy the cardigan she’s making from Malibrigo twist.
I’ve got a little bit of a Rios addiction, and recently discovered Arroyo (it’s like Rios Mini!). The colors are INSANE–I don’t know how they manage to make multis look so natural.
Malabrigo Twist in Grapes was actually the first legitimate skein of yarn that I ever owned. My good friend Alciia, who’s an amazing knitter and tries to pass on the addiction to others as often as she can, sent me the skein for a birthday gift to try and get me hooked. It worked.
I haven’t yet knit with this beautiful yarn, but I have already fallen in love with the colors. I recently purchased a skein of their lovely, squishy Rasta Kettle Dyed Pure Merino Wool in 866 Arco Iris. Not sure what it’s going to become yet, but I’ve got lots of ideas!
Would love to try this Arroyo as well. It’s gorgeous!
Malabrigo was the first really nice yarn I ever used. My first love, if you will. Twist is my absolute favorite but I would love to give Arroyo a try!
I have not yet knit with Malabrigo but am planning to try this beautiful yarn. Even better if I get to try it by winning a skein!
Malibrigo sounds like a wonderful yarn that I must try – since I have not yet been formally introduced. BTW – I love pink! Hope that I win a skein!
I have a serious thing for Mal. and by serious I mean that I ration the time that I spend petting the pretty skeins so that I don’t bring them all home. I did a linen stitch cowl in it recently, and I totally agree about the color changes. phenomenal!
I love Malabrigo lace it is so soft and the colors are so wonderful.
Malabrigo was my first “fancy” yarn. I used Mal Worsted for my first sweater (and hat and mittens, because I didn’t know a thing about gauge or yardage at the time). I’ve used Sock and loved it, and Rios and love it, and one of these days I plan on buying a big fat skein of Rasta and making something truly cozy (but first I need to not live in the south).
I made my partner a hat out of Malabrigo Yarn Seleccion Privada and a scarf out of Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted. My oldest WIP is a shawl out of Malabrigo lace, and I just bought two more skeins of lace for another scarf!
The only Malabrigo I’ve bought is some lovely blue sock yarn that was meant to become a lace shawlette. But the lace motif absolutely didn’t work, so it went into my stash. I love the yarn and someday it will become a shawlette or cowl.
I made the ‘Melo’ tunic for my daughter-in-law using the Malabrigo Merino Worsted. Just beautiful!
I LOVE malabrigo. I actually just bought 5 skeins of their Rio yarn to make a jacket, which I’m hoping will be my first successful use of it. Due to no fault of the yarn, I had to frog a half completed shrug last year and I’ve had a pair of leg warmers in hibernation that uses it for the past several months. On both occasions, I was in love with the yarn, but not with the patterns. 🙁
I only just recently received my very first skein of Malabrigo sock, and along with it 2 skeins of Malabrigo Lace (they were both gifts). I don’t get many chances to try out yarns like these as my budget doesn’t really call for more than what I can get on sale at Jo-Anns or Hobby Lobby, but with these gifts I instantly fell in love with Malabrigo yarns. I haven’t gotten the chance to knit with them yet, but just holding them in my hands their one of the softest yarns I have felt and the colors are super gorgeous. I hope I get the chance in the future to try out more of their fabulous yarns, and maybe this wonderful giveaway will give me a chance to do so 🙂
Thank you for such an awesome giveaway 🙂
I love Malabrigo yarns. I’ve made beautiful shawls, handwarmers, cowls, using different weights from laceweight to worsted. Love them all.
I made a Lacy Baktus using a skein of Malabrigo yarn. I love the colors and how the yarn felt in my hand while knitting.
Malabrigo looks so luxurious and soft, I have never yet experienced knitting with this yarn and would love to win a skein.
