Rabble Rousers Giveaway, Take Three
Do you guys mind if I do this giving yarn away thing again? I’m hoping not, because I’m having fun! I’ve got a skein of Handmaiden Silk Twist to give away. This is the yarn I used for the Tumult cowl in Rabble Rousers.
I’ve loved Handmaiden (and their sister company, Fleece Artist) for just about as long as I’ve been knitting. They were one of my very first ‘grown up’ yarn purchases (the stuff that comes from a yarn store instead of from a generic craft store), and theirs are still the yarns I’m most likely to bring home from a trip.
They have a huge range of bases (Silk Twist is 2 plies of wool and 1 of silk all swirled together to give a marvelous shimmery effect) and some of the most beautiful colors I’ve ever seen. Their Casbah is one of my go-to sock yarns. The list of projects I’ve done with their yarn is long (and the size of my Handmaiden stash impressive).
Now I made my Tumult with somewhere right around 120 yards of yarn, and Silk Twist comes in lovely big 430 yard skeins, so I’m going to share the skein between two of you (again, it’s a nice giant skein, and half of it is more than enough to make a nice big version of this cowl, never fear).
If you think you might have room for some Silk Twist in your stash, go take a look at Handmaiden’s list of bases and leave a comment saying which one looks most interesting to you. I’m secretly hoping I can get around to working with all of them at some point! I’ll leave comments open through Friday night and pick a winner early next week!
Mmmm I love moondust, beach house and vintage!!
Ooops, I was looking at colors! I do like the silk maiden– I could see it being a really smooshy delicious cowl, but having used casbah sock before I’d have to say that is my favorite because it is delicious.
Tumult is my favorite pattern in Rabble Rousers, so I would be really excited to try knitting it in this yarn.
It’s a tough choice for my favorite color. I honestly can’t pick just one. I love Ottawa, Double Sea, and Lace Silk. It would be impossible to choose between them. 🙂
I have a beautiful shawl out of sea silk and some mini maiden in progress. I would love to try the lino– it seems so exotic.
thanks for the giveaway and your beautiful books and designs.
Oh goodness!! What yummy yummy yarns 😀 I think the Maiden Hair would make a beautiful shawl… I can’t stop picturing a big flowy, lacy thing in the shown Hemlock colorway <3
Mind!?!? This is amazing, all these giveaways.
The bases all look delicious. I’d particularly like to try Swiss Mountain Cashmere and Silk.
I’d love to try Marrakesh as I love lace knitting.
I want to try them all! I wonder if I can get them where I live. Swiss Mountain Cashmere and Silk is my favourite, but they all seem wonderful.
I think the Great Big Sea looks like it would make an amazing sweater but I was also really drawn to the 4 ply cashmere. If I had to pick I guess I’d choose the Great Big Sea. It just looks so inviting.
Beautiful. I certainly don’t mind the giveaways! I would love to try the Casbah, it looks wonderful!
Thank you!
Maiden Hair looked very intriguing, what a great site llayout too!
I would just love to try Lace Silk, it looks so deliciously wispy. Thankyou for the give-away opportunity.
I would love to try the flaxen out.. their yarn is just gorgeous!
I’ve used Casbah and loved it. I have Sea Silk and am still saving for ‘something perfect’. : )
I like the looks of Mini Maiden and the Flaxen.
I would love to try the sea lace. I have never knit with Seacell
They have been a fave of mine for a long time too. But I’d love to try SeaSilk!
Thx.

I’d like to try Ottawa. It looks gorgeous!

i would love to try the camelspin! i’m always so intrigued by the more unusual fibers…
Marrakesh. What could be better than silk and camel? Nothing.
The Tumult cowl is the main reason why I bought Rabble Rousers. I would love to try the Swiss Mountain yarn or any combo with merino and silk. All of these yarns sound so yummy!
I like the Lady Godiva the best. It’s hard to choose and not be swayed by the colors shown. I like the twist on the Lady Godiva though. I think it would really highlight stitch definition. Thanks for the shot at a giveaway.
My oh My! What a wonderful selection (and difficult decision)! Can my answer be ‘all of them’? I guess if I have to pick my favorites they would be: Sea Three in Walnut, Swiss Mountain Cashmere and Silk, Mini Maiden and Sea Silk.
I would love to try seasilk, they all look very good though.
That’s a tough one. But nymph has all the right colors in it!
It would definitely have to be Swiss Mountain Sea Sock. I didn’t even know such a base existed! TY for highlighting this great company and yarn!
