Rabble Rousers Yarn Giveaway
Because I love you all, and because yarn people are the very nicest people imaginable, I’ve got some goodies to give away over the next few weeks to mark the launch of Rabble Rousers. (I seriously love my job, not only do I get to play with all this pretty yarn, I get to give it away and make others happy too!)
I’m starting with Wistful by Briar Rose. This is the yarn I used to make Clamor, and holy wow is it yummy stuff. It’s an alpaca, merino, silk blend. The alpaca gives it just a hint of a halo (nothing overly dramatic, just a little bit) and the silk gives it a lovely depth and shimmer. Then of course you’ve got Chris’s magnificent color sense, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to be smitten. You can always pick out the Briar Rose booth at any fiber event, the colors just glow, they’ll call to you from all the way across the room.
And I’ve got some to give away! Best of all, Wistful comes in lovely giant skeins. There’s something like 500 yards in there. More than enough to make at least two of these hats. So to spread the love to as many of you as possible, I’m going to split this skein up between two winners.
All you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment telling me about your experience with Briar Rose. Tell me what you’ve knit with it, or where you’ve seen it, or even tell me you’ve only just now discovered it! Leave a comment on this post some time between now and Friday night (be sure you use a real email address so I can find you if you win, no one but me will see them, and I won’t do anything with them except use them to contact the winners). I’ll announce the winners next week.
This is the first time I’ve seen Briar Rose and it looks wonderful. I would love to win. thanks!
I’ve read about Briar Rose on blogs, but I’ve never seen it in person. It’s one of those companies on my mental list–ones whose yarn I want to pay extra attention to if I see it in the wild so I can understand why it makes people so excited. Thanks for the giveaway! The yarn looks beautiful.
I have 6 oz of Briar Rose BFL in my spinning stash, awaiting inspiration. It is gorgeous stuff. Alas, I’ve never seen the yarn in person. They just don’t sell it in my neck of the woods.
I haven’t heard of Briar Rose until now! But I do quite like the idea of big skeins of yarn 🙂
I haven’t used briar rose personally, but I’ve seen it used on many blogs- this one and knitspot in particular. I’d love to give it a go! I haven’t seen it at any lys up here, which isn’t too surprising seeing as I live in British Columbia.
Hey Hunter,
It’s Ursa, formerly of Gaia’s Colours Fibre Arts. I haven’t yet used Briar Rose, but have heard about it several times from Brenda Dayne of “Cast On” podcast. Would love to try this blend…
thanks
Ursa
Sounds like you have so many exciting plans on your hands right now — congratulations! I’ve not knit with Briar Rose before but would absolutely love to. Thanks for the chance to win this.
So many different yarn companies, it’s hard to keep track of whether or not you have even heard of them but such a sinfully beautiful yarn should certainly be noticed. I noticed! I noticed!
This Briar Rose look delicious, this is the first time I have read about this yarn. I would love to knit with this.
I’ve not heard of Briar Rose before but it looks lovely. thanks for the giveaway!
I saw Briar Rose at the first sock summit, but did not have enough $ left to purchase any. It was gorgeous yarn and I’d love to knit with it,
I have not yet had the pleasure of knitting with Briar Rose, but I was able to drool over it at the Black Swamp Spinner’s Guild here in Ohio. Several of my friends are HUGE fans and it really is quite lovely. I have NO excuse for not having knit with Briar Rose yarn yet!!!!
I had never heard of them until now, but I love their color selection.
Just now introduced to them. Beautiful!
I was part of knitspot fall in full color and had a chance to knit w briar rose 4th or July. Awesome color and squishy feel. Thanks for the opportunity to try another base!
I have never seen or heard of Briar Rose yarn before I read this post. I know if it is merino, silk, and alpaca it must be a dream to knit.
Never heard of Briar Rose, I like the color selection, looks interesting yarn to work with.
This is the first I’ve heard of Briar Rose, but I expect not the last. They have really nice colors, I hope I get a chance to play with some.
I have a fair bit of Chris’s yarns, mostly in huge amounts, to make sweaters. My usual ravatar is a big cozy shawl made from Josephine and I made a keyhole scarf for my SO from her luscious cashmere yarn. Haven’t yet tried wistful …
Briar Rose is new to me and I would love to give it a whirl on my needles!
This is the first I’ve Heard of this yarn but I am sure I will check it out for future projects after your recommendation,
I saw Briar Rose at a vendor’s booth at a knitting show in Canada, and I was tempted. I would love to own some!
I have never used Briar Rose yarn, but the fiber content sounds awesome! I would love to try it!
I’ve never used Briar Rose but I love the color of that hat.
Briar Rose is the bomb! I can’t remember how I first heard about it, but I ordered some very lovely alpaca lace weight years ago, and knit a wonderful circular shawl from it. I think I still have some left, come to think of it (the yardage was enormous!)
And their customer service rocks as well. A friend ordered at the same time, had some difficulty with her skein (I don’t remember now what the problem was). They fixed it immediately, sent her another skein, and a little gift as well. Very nice folks!
I see Ann Hanson singing their praises often as well. I keep thinking I’ll get some of their heavier yarns to try. So many yarns, so little time!
