Why Knitters Have Kittens
It may, at first, seem an unlikely pairing. Kittens are not known for their restraint. They have been found to have an unholy love for yarn, which doesn’t end well for either of the parties involved. They are often convinced that laps are meant for them, not for pesky bits of knitting. But they do have some advantages. If you come up the stairs and see this:
You can be pretty sure there’s some sort of flying critter somewhere up there. Kittens are excellent moth detection systems. Vigilant, diligent, and very very dedicated. The moth has now been snuffed out and his tiny corpse ritually disposed of in an effort to ward off his brethren. Barry and Levon are on the case and will let us know if we have a problem.
I’m not a huge cat person, being super allergic myself, but that is pretty super cool!!! I like pets that earn their keep and they look lovely there! 🙂
Here is my intersection of fiber and four-feets. Feline interference is mentioned, but is not the prime culprit.
I hope you enjoy it!

Barry and Levon are doing God’s work. Carry on, kittens.
Did Douglas miss the fun?
I know I feel much safe knowing my cat-guys are protecting me from all sorts of creepy crawlies! (I never thought about the moths that they have captured as potential wool eaters! I’ll need to give my guys extra treats tonight for all their wool defense all these years!)
Douglas got in on the action a bit later, he just wasn’t quite still enough to make it into the photo as anything save a blur of fur. He’s still a bit distractable.
I have two that love to catch moths. Unfortunately, they fight over who gets to eat them. Kind of disgusting, but reassuring since I know they aren’t getting to my fiber stash! Your kitties are adorable!
