Well that was Refreshing

I’m a firm believer in the restorative power of playing hooky.  Sometimes it’s the only appropriate response to a given situation…or at least sometimes it’s the best response to a given situation.  So this weekend, I played hooky.  I ran off to Lansing to spend the weekend with some old friends.

I had thought I would tell you all about it, but it turns out that it’s hard to describe a bunch of grown women dissolving into fits of helpless giggles over the most ridiculous of in jokes.  I tried, it just loses something in the translation.  Suffice it to say I had a fabulous time.  My face still hurts from laughing.  I hardly slept at all, yet somehow I feel better rested than I have in weeks.  And I can’t explain any of it.  Not even a little bit.

But don’t worry, there is still a tale to tell.  I met a ravelpal, visited 3.5 yarn stores, sampled a bit of the local potables, and coaxed Nibbles (my car) through his very first nervous breakdown.  All of which I will detail in the next day or two.  But right now, I have a wee bit of catching up to do.  It’s the price for playing hooky, but it’s well worth it!
