Shows Potential
I know this still doesn’t look exactly awe-inspiring. But I assure you it should be cool when it gets a bit more done. It will be all swooshes and diagonals and angles. If things go according to plan (always a big if) it should be reversible. And it might just give me an excuse to indulge my burgeoning button obsession. Of course that won’t happen if I don’t find some time to actually sit down and make more stitches.
I love the colors of that yarn and the hat looks promising.
Looks promising indeed. And has reminded me that I really need to have a dig in my extra 16″ circular needles and see if I have any to send you and save you from all those fiddly DPNs! Not that you don’t manage fine on them, obviously. 😉
I have it on 6 for the picture (so it fits on the head form), but usually I work on 4 needles, so it’s the same as a sock more or less. I’ve tried circs, and they’re just not for me. Apparently I’m an old fashioned sort and love my traditional dpns. Not old fashioned enough to seam you understand…that’s just crazy talk!
When my husband was in China for work last spring he brought me home sock sized dpns that are about 14 inches long. Maybe Chinese knitters are more likely lever knitters who utilize armpits to brace the needles? I don’t know. But I do know when I decide to do a lace weight sweater on size 2 mm needles, I’ll have the perfect DPNs.
Ooooh, those sound awesome!
This looks very intriguing. Love the colour and the part of the design that I can see.
Can’t wait to see it finished.
I love the colors, and I personally think the bug pin is AWESOME! I think that seeing the bug on the hat would actually draw me to the pattern….is that weird?
