Plicate
After much ado, I’m pleased to present Plicate.
We had a little photo shoot yesterday, and Lauren deserves great acclaim for willingly donning wooly things on the first really scorching day of the year. I haven’t the slightest idea how she managed. I was totally un-wool-covered, and I almost keeled over from the heat.
On the off chance it’s not too hot to even think of touching wool where you are (or, if you’ve given in and cranked up the a/c to the point where you’re actually just a bit chilly), you can now make one of your own. It’s soft and squishy, works up quickly (it’s another of those where you won’t need to look at the chart once you get the hang of the pattern), and can be adjusted to fit your notions of the proper amount of scrunching in the back. And don’t worry, there are careful instructions on just how to do the gathers at the back.
I love it! And Lauren is such a good sport! How can she possibly look so cool?
Gorgeous! And isn’t it funny you get comments from two Ellen’s in a row!
I bought your pattern and I’d like to know if you would share what brand and color yarn you used my daughter loves the color and I’d like to pick up the same yarn if you don’t mind sharing that info with me. I posted this on my facebook page and I already have two “orders” requested for me to make for people in my family. You have a few more designs I’ll be back for especially for socks!
Alas, it’s a local alpaca farm that doesn’t sell online or in stores, only at a handful of fiber fairs in Ohio. It’s a loosely spun 100% alpaca in a light fingering weight. Luckily, you really can use the pattern with a huge variety of yarns (just pick your gauge and then see what size you should make). Anything fuzzy and fairly light should give you close to the look in the pictures.
