Patterns and Yarn and Pictures Oh My
Alrighty, after much delay (we’re pretending it’s so I could take the socks far away for a photo shoot, not because I was lazy) the pattern for Peregrinate is out.
I had great fun with these. They came with me on my trip to DC for Savor and on my trips to Rochester and Pontiac to see Jukebox the Ghost and on a few other smaller trips too. The vast majority of them were knit on the road, which seems fitting given the name. I finished them shortly before my excursion to Port Ludlow, so I thought it was only reasonable to take them with me to get some pretty pictures.
The yarn is by Barking Dog Yarns. Suzan just launched her new website. To celebrate, she’s kindly agreed to donate a skein of her sock yarn to one lucky winner. To enter, head over to her site, look through the sock yarn, and come back and post a comment with the name of your favorite color. If you win, she’ll send that yarn off to you (and I’ll send you the pattern or refund your purchase if you already bought it). Just be sure you use a real email address when you leave a comment (I’m the only one who can see it) so I can find you if you win. I’ll leave comments open through Tuesday or so.
And yes, because someone will ask, the second picture does show the left sock on the right foot and the right sock on the left foot. I promise it’s ok…your socks won’t suddenly unravel and no one will yell at you if you wear them backwards. I just wanted to show off the way that lovely acid green ended up in the purl field on both socks. It happened with no intervention on my part (though I was prepared to force it if I had to) and entertained me to no end.
Gorgeous pattern & gorgeous yarn! My favorite colorway is the Ruby Throated Hummer.

Thanks! Lisa H.
Tuscan Vineyard is my favorite, I was just imagining putting those colors together for some fiber.
Congratulations on another fabulous pattern! Love it and love Nantasket Beach best of all the Barking Dogs Yarn.
Wow, what gorgeous colors. Can I pick them all? Guess not 🙁
Well then, I choose quiet ember as my favorite. I love the warmth of the reds and oranges mixed with the teals and blues. I always gravitate towards cooler colors, so I’m always excited to find something I can fall in love with that has some warmer colors as well. I think it’s the perfect yarn for a sumptuous pair of fall socks!
another just gorgeous pattern! I like Sky Pirate….and Dawn’s Early Light. can’t pick a fave.
Really cool pattern and gorgeous yarn! I love both Neptune’s Grotto and Briarwood Rose. If I win, surprise me!
Another gorgeous pattern!
I love the Pine Rain yarn.
Hard choice but I like California Brittle.
Cool pattern, too.
I wanted to test knit these as well, they are so cool! I went to Susan’s site and while I loved Dawn’s early light I have so much blue already! Charwoman in pink definitely jumped out at my *feminine* side! ~smile~
Oh my, how can I pick just one, but I guess I gotta so I think I’ll go with Oaklahoma Rose. It so girly! Love the new pattern too! I think it would look great knitted up in the Oaklahoma Rose (just saying).
Your pattern is beautiful! Wish I’d been paying attention on Ravelry when you were pattern testing! 😛
My favorite colorways involve a lot of blues and/or purples, lately, so right now I’m in love with Dawn’s Early Light. I’d buy it if I could afford it!
I love Nantasket Beach, though Exotic Leaf runs a close second. I think either one would look lovely knitted up in your newest pattern Peregrinate.
Great colours! But Nantasket Beach really grabbed me! 😀
Great pattern! My favourite yarn is Koi, love that orangey goodness.
Stunning pattern and wonderful yarn! My fave colourway is Nantasket Beach, though it was difficult to choose. So many lovely colours.
I have to say that my favorite is the Oklahoma Rose. This would make gorgeous sox.
Love the sock. And love Suzan’s Nantasket Beach.
Such a pretty pattern — I love the way the yarn pooled, too! My favorite has to be Exotic Leaf, but Lost Shaker of Salt is a close second. 🙂
Hi Hunter!
I have to say I really love this sock! The sloping pattern on the foot just makes me go all squiggly inside for some reason. So good job once again!
I really enjoyed your account of taking photos of your socks, people often tell me that I could buy the thing I’m knitting in a store. Obviously they’ve totally missed the point!
I really love the Briarwood colourway from Suzan. All of her colours are so lovely it’s hard to choose just one. I can definitely see myself buying alot of her yarns!
They are all so yummy, but I LOVE Neptune’s Grotto. Thanks for the drawing.
Neptunes grotto is just awesome!
Nantasket Beach is lovely! And I do love these socks, great job!
Oh, how fun! I love the Oaklahoma Rose color.
My favorite is Old Barn at Dusk. It’s so warm and rustic!
2nd choice is Dawn’s Early Light…
