Bedizen
Bedizen is up!
These are shamelessly frilly, fluffy, girly socks — because sometimes that’s exactly what you need. It’s hopeless to fight it. The stitch pattern is unapologetically lacy and swirly. It looks complicated, but it is actually surprisingly simple. The pattern repeat is only 4 rows high, and it is very easy to memorize.
The yarn is a delicious 50-50 merino alpaca blend by Dicentra Designs. The alpaca adds the perfect touch of luxury. If you’re going to make a confection like these, you really should use a marvelous yarn, shouldn’t you? And at least one lucky reader can. Just check out Dicentra Designs’ shop, and leave a comment here with the color you’d use to make these socks. The winner will get that yarn and a copy of the pattern. I’ll keep the comments open till Wednesday evening, and announce the winner on Thursday.
Congratulations on a great sock design!
I think Dicentra has amazing color definition and that they deserve more attention than they get. Personally, I think this design would look great in the Dark Teal, but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of their colors.
Once again, another beautiful sock pattern! All of Dicentra’s colors are beautiful but I can see this knit up in the Boysenberry colorway!
I love the Cyprus Ave (Ihope I spelled that right). The socks would be better in a more solid yarn. But I would love looking at my lacey toes in this yarn. : )
Wow! Those colors are just stunning. I wasn’t familiar with Dicentra. Will have to order something. Oddly enough, because I have only recently become so attracted to the “nearly solid” colors, that “Dark Teal” just grabbed me. Lots of other beautimous stuff, but goodness, that color just rocks it!
What beautiful colors! I would love to knit these socks in Opal Creek.
I like several colorways but if I have to choose just one I guess I’ll pick…ummm…hmmmmm…I guess it will be…hmmm…maybe I’ll choose…Dark Teal.

A great sock pattern — calling out to me to be knitted in deep periwinkle, of course!
Hi Hunter
my favourte colour of dicentra is opal creek, although it was difficult to choose, most of them are lovely.
have a great day

I love the Deep Purple color on their page, thanks for introducing me to yet another beautiful dyer!
What a gorgeous sock! And Dicentra’s yarns look lovely….any one of them would be beautiful. Choosing one would be difficult, though I do have an affinity for Spring Rain.
Another gorgeous design! I think it would look great in the Dark Paprika.
Lovely pattern. I would have to go with boysenberry.
Oh! Moss, I think, though they are all lovely. These are beautiful socks, btw.
Alpaca Merino Sportweight Yarn – Opal Creek is gorgeous.Hugs Darcy

gorgeous sock………..
and i’m thinking their “garnet” colorway!!
so many pretty colors to choose from………
I love the Pelennor. If I was to spin my own it would be Damask.
Love the pattern! Love Lisa’s colors; really like the looks of colorway that includes black, gold, and turquoise!
Happy stitching!
Lovely new design. I can just imagine having those pretty lacey socks keeping me warm on a winter’s day. I saw a number of yummy Dicentra colors but I think I love the one you used the best.
Wow.. I just love introductions to new yarn websites.. those colors are amazing.. but I realize my stash is lacking in solids! So I would just love that Royal…. and I KNOW for a fact that Bedizen would look fantastic in that yarn!
I recognise that lace. How clever to turn that into a sock pattern.
Since I have a specific person in mind, when I finally get up courage for sock-knitting (I’m slow, and second socks are a hurdle) I’d go with boysenberry. Or possibly valentine. But probably boysenberry.
I love the Pelennor. It has such rich color.
Since it is a “girly” pattern – I would choose the Shell Pink! Very girly indeed!
However, I also liked the bronze colorway but it was a different yarn. I think that color would be wonderful.
Beautiful pattern, Hunter, as usual. I’ve worn alpaca socks and it is heaven on the feet. I’d love to make this sock in the dark teal — it would be a great color to show off the lacy-ness of the sock.
what a lovely pattern. and awesome yarn. so hard to pick a favorite. I really love boysenberry!
Hi! LOVE the pattern and I especially love the boysenberry color! It’s on my list of WANTS.
